How do i get the speedo drive gear off the shaft on a 91 700r4 ? there isn`t a retainer holding it on the shaf?

i put a trans. out of a p/u into my Caprice car , the car needs a gear driven speedo senson . The truck has a straight cut gear and a magnetic pickup . I`m trying to swap the gears over .
